Registration of Power of Attorney in Punjab Pakistan in 2023

                               

If you are owner of any immovable property but due to any reason, you are unable to sell your property to anyone. You can appoint any trustworthy person and authorize him to sell your property to any person or the person of your desire.

 

For appointing any person to sell your property, you are required to execute a Power of Attorney in favour of that particular trustworthy person and get the Power of Attorney registered in the concerned office of Sub Registrar.

 

Be noted, without getting registered a Power of Attorney, no property can be sold on the basis of an unregistered Power of Attorney.

 

The person who authorizes someone through Power of Attorney is called "Principle" and the person who is authorized by Principal is called "Agent" or "Attorney-Holder". The document through which, a Principal authorizes an Agent is called "Power of Attorney".


Power of Attorney meaning in urdu is مختار نامہ. Principle meaning in urdu is مختار نامہ دہندہ۔. Agent meaning is نمائندہ and Attorney Holder meaning in urdu is مختار.


Procedure for registration of a Power of Attorney for sale of Property in Punjab

 

  1. Arrange ownership documents.
  2. Pay Applicable fees/charges/taxes/duties for a Power of Attorney (click here to calculate)
  3. Get issued Stamp Paper for Power of Attorney  from Bank of Punjab by filling online Challan form 32-A
  4. Prepare Power of Attorney for property sale  if you can,  otherwise get it  prepared from a Lawyer or any person having expertise in preparation of same.
  5. Print Power of Attorney on stamp paper
  6. Photocopy the power of attorney and other documents as per requirement
  7. Sign and thumb impress on the Power of Attorney
  8. Principal, Agent and their witnesses should Visit the concerned Sub Registrar Office for registration.
  9. Photographs will be taken, verification of CNIC will be done.
  10. Submit the relevant documents in the office of Sub Registrar.
  11. Place sign and thumb impression in the relevant register maintained in the office of Sub Registrar and other documents as required.
  12.  Make statement before the  Sub Registrar / officer concerned.
  13. Moharrar/ Staff of Office of Sub Registrar, will issue a receipt as an acknowledgment of receiving the Power of Attorney for registration.
  14. After few days, Power of Attorney will be signed and registered.

After few days, collect the registered Power of Attorney from the Sub registrar office where you submitted it.     


Documents required for registration of Power of Attorney for sale of property 

Following are the power of attorney registration documents, which you should have at the time of registration of power of attorney in the office of Sub Registrar. 

  1. Ownership Documents like Original Registry, Original FARD Braye Bay (FARD Bay) issued by issued by Patwari Halqa or Land Record Centre/ Arazi Record Centre, Allotment Letter , Possession Letter from concerned Housing Society. (Depending on circumstances of your case, you might have only Registry, or only FARD or both registry along with FARD, or only allotment letter)
  2. CNICs of Principal, Agent and Witnesses.
